PASCAP Trust will be offering a creative new development programme to learners who are interested and motivated to pursue tertiary education. The Achievement programme (Supporting Ambition) will target learners attending secondary schools in South Africa, with the first programme being presented to learners at Hout Bay High School in 2014. The aim of the programme is to encourage the pursuit of tertiary education and various stimulating learner-focused sessions will be held. The following components have been incorporated into the programme: personal growth, planning for success, tertiary study preparation and developing smart skills. The core goal of the programme is to support learners’ ambition, goals and achievement.
There is a need for programmes to focus on encouraging the pursuit of tertiary education, especially amongst learners facing challenging circumstances. It is for this reason that the achievement programme holds promising benefits for South African youth.
